Monitor vendor contracts to ensure compliance and affirmative action laws are followed. Supervise over 30 employees to ensure front-line staff follows agency and legislative procedures. Recommend corrective action plans or course of disciplinary action to the Executive Director. Write grants and maintain agency compliance of them. Prepare bid notices for capital purchases and advertise board meetings under the Open Public Meetings Act. Review, mediate and adjudicate discrimination cases generated internally and externally. Investigate and reconcile employee-related issues. Hire employees, evaluate performance and negotiate salaries. Work with the Chief Financial Officer to coordinate the salary and benefits packages of 45 full-time employees. Also coordinate and conduct comprehensive management and strategic planning studies involving agency/ city organization and operations.
MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
á Passed all Federal compliance reviews in the Adult and Youth categories since 1997.
á Wrote over 50 grant-related proposals for construction, Welfare-to-Work initiatives and capital expenditures generating $6 million per year and submitted budget amendments to officials in the Department of Labor.
á Instituted a structured salary grade system to appropriately distribute employee compensation increments.
Township of Irv. Emergency Management Coordinator May 1994 Ð December 2003
Interfaced with various agencies and ensured that the proper execution and documentation of protocols was followed. Elected officials were advised on policies that affected 60,000 residents. Verified expenditures and approved expenditures for volunteer police/rescue units.
MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Developed a 700-page Eemergency Plan for Irvington, which was approved by county and
state officials.
á Effectively managed departmental budget through controlled spending and solicited private donations. Obtained over $50,000 in federal funds for disaster relief.

of elected officials and city buildings.
Assisted
in recovery efforts and the deployment of resources and personnel at the World

As Vice President, worked
with several local and county officials as Vice President to revitalize a dormant $48
million building program and completed a
new grammar school building, including two major additions, before leaving the
board in 1993.
